Char's Healthy Tips
I am an advocate of the 5,2,1,0 daily recommendation, which promotes the following:
5 servings of fruits and vegetables
2 or less hours of screen time (TV, video games, computer chatting)
1 hour (minimum) of physical activity
0 sugary drinks (especially soda)
I have been striving to use the 5,2,1,0 approach with my boys since they were toddlers. At 6 and 4, they are healthy, energetic children, who know how to make good food choices, love being active to strengthen their heart and muscles and thrive on this well balanced, healthy approach to life.
I have also signed a pledge for the Surgeon General that states, I pledge to:
Be a role model by making healthy choices for myself.
Help children by physically active through everyday play and participation in sports.
Support children’s healthy eating habits.
I encourage everyone that has a relationship with a child to sign this pledge and make this commitment of leading by example. Please follow the link below to sign the pledge.
